Five days of Yoga
In 2008, I started at a job that broke me down mentally and emotionally. When I'm stressed, I eat. I also had easy access to some wonderful, rich food thanks to the job and needless to say, I gained a ton of weight. I also stopped working out and rarely took Bikram yoga classes (or hot yoga as it's been better known here in Nashville) anymore and that brought the weight on a lot more rapidly than I would have liked.
Bikram Cool Springs opened its doors in January and I have found a new sanctuary for my practice - one that teaches Bikram in its correct, purest form. It's a form of yoga I have enjoyed since 2003 and it has never let me down. I feel cleansed, I feel energized, and I feel and look (and according to the Husband) fantastic when I get to practice. More importantly, my brain focuses so much better, I am happier and I definitely feel healthy inside and out.
Today was Day 1 of my five-days-in-a-row, personal Bikram yoga challenge. I am going to track my progress and my goal is to fit into this particular pair of Chip & Pepper jeans I haven't been able to wear comfortably since the job. I am going to see how this five-day practice helps me focus, and how it makes me feel and you all get to follow along!
I have no doubt it's going to be an amazing ride, even though it's only five days. But just think - if five days can make such a difference in my life, imagine what my continued practice can do, and what this yoga could do for you too if you gave it a try!
No, they aren't paying me to say this. This is just a personal goal. BUT, if you're inspired to try it out for yourself, you have my utmost support and encouragement!
