New Favorite Product Line: Cloud Island
People throw the term “self-care” around a lot, and as moms one of the many things we’re told to do as much as possible is to let ourselves experience said “self-care.” No pressure.
Anyway this post isn’t exactly about that, but more so about how I (and a few other moms I know) find self-care in small spurts, one of those spurts being “running errands” at Target. This has started happening after The Baby goes to bed (and also apparently when college kids go in groups to shop at Target but I’ve gotten good at tuning them out). It’s nice to go at that time because I know he’s settled and in bed, and The Husband isn’t totally abandoned and also gets some time to himself.
One of the brands I love from Target is their house brand, Cloud Island. They have a whole aisle of product ranging from room decor to sheets to toys. Recently they launched their own line of essentials too like diapers and wipes, utensils and plates and also bath products!
Their footie PJs are great because they have two-way zippers and built-in mittens, I just wish they’d make the footie PJs in larger sizes (their size run stops at 12 months) so Cloud Island/Target, if you’re reading this PLEASE consider making a line of Cloud Island footie PJs for older kids? Those Carter ones can sometimes feel like they’re made of horribly cheap material that feels highly flammable and not breathable at all.
By the way, this post is in no way sponsored by Target or Cloud Island but if either one of these companies wants to start sending me things I’m game.
I’ve been using Pampers wipes and they’re fine, they’re nice and not flimsy, and we like using them for the most part except they haven’t figured out how to pack them so when you pull a wipe out you don’t end up pulling five more sheets out at the same time. Well guess what: Cloud Island’s wipes come out one at a time. Yes I know some of the Huggies wipes also do that but for some reason Theo developed a rash from that brand so I stuck with Pampers... till now.
I don’t think I’ll try Cloud Island’s diapers - we’re very happy with the Pampers Baby Dry line as well as the Pampers Pure line which we use for bedtime - but they’re quite cute too, design wise: grey with white clouds. It’s subtle and I’m into it. If you try them let me know what the quality is like!
This post is also not sponsored by Pampers but hey Pampers if you’re reading this want to work together?
As for Cloud Island’s new plates and such, what I love about them is how they’re subtle, pastel tones and not the garish primary colors baby/kid things tend to be. Also, now that we’re trying to get Theo to use a fork and spoon instead of his fingers, these forks with their stainless steel ends are much easier to spear veggies and food with than the plastic training ones.
Note that they’re for 18+ months and not for when your baby’s motor skills still aren’t honed enough.
If I didn’t already have four silicon mats I’d buy these because the designs are adorable. I may get the silicon bib so he has a backup!!
I’m hoping they launch more designs if this takes off. For now, I think they’ve got cute items you could add to your registry (or just buy because they’re very affordable). And just in case you needed a reason to go to Target again, this is a good one.
