Are you a business that sells goods? You should be on Twitter too.
If I told you you could use Twitter to your advantage without actually USING Twitter, would you be willing to give it a shot? This is directed at businesses already on Instagram who don't believe they need Twitter: If you're already taking the time to post pretty pictures of what you're selling or doing, there is no reason why you aren't on Twitter too.
First of all, being on Twitter is another great way for people to
- Connect with you.
- Find you.
- Talk about you.
Pictures do really well on Twitter and most of the apps you can use (except Twitter.com) will provide a preview of the picture you just posted on Instagram, so people will still get the an idea of what you are trying to say (even if your caption might get cut off a bit).
It only takes a few minutes to start a Twitter account, add your logo and create a profile. It takes even less time to connect the accounts from Instagram and save for the occasional check to follow people or respond to tweets from customers (that's right, I said "customers" because I guarantee your customers are on Twitter) you really don't have to do much more than you're already doing.
Who should use Twitter? Any business that wants to promote its products. So if you own a store, a restaurant, you're a designer or artist, if you have anything that's visually pleasing and you use Instagram, just go to your settings, then tap on Share Settings and link to Twitter.
Whether or not you want to update with non-Instagram posts, that's up to you. But if you haven't already joined Twitter for your business, I recommend that you do so and go ahead and connect Instagram to it and not miss out on even more business coming through your door.
