Nashville Street Food Awards, Saturday 9/1 at Centennial Park

What's a Saturday in Nashville without food trucks at the park? Boring. For me, especially, since I tend to schedule my activities around food. I'm going to have lots to do on Saturday. So, September is Hunger Action Month and, this Saturday 9/1, the Nashville Food Truck Association is kicking things off with the first ever Nashville Street Food Awards at Centennial Park. The event is free, and donations can be made at each of the trucks with a portion going to Second Harvest Food Bank.

Starting at 11a.m. and going on all day till 6p.m., the following trucks will be revving their generators and ready to feed the crowds so come hungry.

Beach Bums Juice Bar
Biscuit Love
Bistro Truck
Blue Monkey Shaved Ice

The Coffee Truck

Deg Thai

There will be a panel of judges picking their favorites in a blind tasting in various categories like Best Burger, Best Vegetarian, Best Drink and more, including a Second Harvest People's Choice Awards which is where you come in! This is what I love about the food truck festivals in town - us regular folk also get to pick our People's Choice - the trucks will be selling their usual fare as well as offer small "tastes" that we can sample.

The Nashville Street Food Awards is an all-day affair and it's free. Musician's Corner (also free) also starts its fall season that afternoon so there will be plenty of great, live music to listen to while you chow down on your food. Make a day of it, put on some comfy clothes (remember - jeans have no give) and comfy shoes and maybe I'll see you at the park! I'll be the one in the muu muu.
